Here's a quick pic of Grace, Madison and Taylor (another three year old I babysit). They had baths this morning and I braided their hair - they loved it! The girls are good friends and we love having Taylor come over to play!

We went out to lunch to help celebrate dedicating the girls to the Lord as well as wishing my mom an early "Happy Birthday" coming up on May 26th. If you want to read more about the dedication - see below!

This past Sunday we had the kids dedicated at church. This, like infant baptism, in no way implies that the girls are saved or are guaranteed salvation. They personally, just like all of us, have to establish their own personal relationship with Him through believing in His son Jesus Christ. Jesus, who knew no sin, took on our sin and died for us, taking our punishment upon Himself. He died and then conquered death by rising again on the third day. God's wrath was satisfied by Christ's death on the cross therefore giving us the opportunity to accept His free gift of salvation and eternal life in Him. We pray someday that all of our loved ones including these three precious children, will make this very important decision and invite Christ into their lives. My Dad got a chance to meet up with an old friend from the Continentals while we were in Holland on Saturday. Here's a picture of mom and dad with Linda and her husband - I'm sorry I can't remember the name! They got to visit for about an hour and even brought some old pictures to look at. Did I mention that my Dad just had has 40th reunion with the Continentals? That's so crazy!

My mom and Dad came to town for a bunch of events this past weekend - Grace's Recital, a day at the Beach and downtown Holland (where my Dad caught up with some old friends) and the dedication of the girls at church on Sunday! It was an action packed, fun-filled weekend and we all had a great time. Saturday we went to Lake Michigan to see the beach and have a picniuc lunch. Well, we ended up eatin our picnic in the van because it was so windy. The sun was out though and it was a beautiful day! Here are some pics of the girls testing out the cold water.

I am a person that likes order - however, if you saw my house right now you would have to question that statement. What can I say - three kids under the age of five will do that to you! Anyhow - I forogt to blog pictures from Grace's Preschool Graduation last Monday (15th) - her Recital pictures below are from Friday the 19th. She is officially on summer vacation! And moving off to Kindergarten in the fall - my how time flies!

Nana Nita was there too and then we all went out for lunch at B.C. Pizza! I forgot to mention that Daddy got to come and it was very special to have him there. He also got to join Grace's class on a last field trip to the Dairy Ranch (local ice cream store). Grace was going up to all of her friends and saying " I'd like to introduce you to my Daddy..."
Faith was there watching intently! Don't get any ideas kid - let's wait about four more years!

Grace was beaming on stage as she did her number and she did wonderfully! They performed the theme song to Sesame Street - sung by Elmo. We were all so proud of her. Afterwards, her two Nanas gave her flowers and she would not let them go for a second! Grace is such a ham - as we were taking pictures on the stage afterwards, she kept posing and performing - she thought she was big stuff!

Last Friday night (May 12th), Quinn and the girls and I went to watch Gracie rehearse for her dance recital. It's the only time parents can take video and pictures of the performing for themselves, otherwise you have to buy the DVD! I accidentally went to the wrong auditorium for the rehearsal, but didn't realize it because they too had a dance company there practicing for their recital! So by the time we got to the right place we were 40 minutes late - no big surprise there!! It was fun watching her on stage. She just loves it! Here are some pictures of Grace and her friend Jade, Grace practicing on stage and Grace and Maddie waiting to rehearse. Maddie loves hanging out with Grace.
Today Grace's Pre-school class went on a trip to the Zoo. Maddie and I went along for fun while Faith stayed at Nana's. What a treat to spend a few hours alone with my girls. My big disappointment was that Maddie and I got there about an hour after the class did - we entered the Zoo at the same time, but before that the class went to a talk on animal coverings. I guess during the talk they called Grace up in front of everybody and measured her height against the length of a Boa Constrictor! The other mom that was watching her said she was so brave and stood still while they held the snake up to her! I am so bummed I missed it and am still trying to see if anybody got it on camera.
