Catching up on the Dennings...and another snow day!

Well, it's been an interesting night...I woke up totally awake at 3 o'clock this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. I feel like maybe my body is starting to gear up for those late night feedings that will be coming very soon! At 5:30 I decided to start updating this sad, neglected blog. I know my last post says that I'll be better about updating, but hey...life is busy, you know? I wanted to start out posting where I left off, at Christmas, but those pics are on Quinn's laptop and I don't have easy access at the moment. I can tell you it was a very eventful Christmas as we all ended up with the stomach flu that week. One at a time, every couple of days...figures. So instead, I started with New Year's Eve and then up until these pics I took just a few minutes ago. We got dumped on again last night and you guessed it...no school today (read my posts below - we've had so many snow days this year!) I thought it would be fun to snap a pic of Quinn in his snowblowing get-up...I took him by surprise and I don't think he was amused :) He is off to a late start this morning...his car to take to work is stuck in the road next to our house and then he realized the gas tank in his snowblower was completely empty...not to mention the 7 inches of snow or so we have just in our driveway alone!!! Poor guy is also fighting a chest cold and has not been feeling well at all...he ended up taking our van to the gas station and then blowing the driveway and then shoveling his car out of the road...as I am writing now, I see he got it into our driveway! Crazy day and it's only 8:30 am!! In other news...we are just trying to be patient while we wait for baby's arrival...how many times do I have to keep cleaning my house before this kid shows up? And how many days will I have all three kids snowed in with me while I am trying to keep that house clean? In between those posts (timewise) we made another trip to Columbus...our last before summer probably. We got to spend time with family and friends and see my cousin's new baby Jackson...and oh my goodness he is so cute! I have never seen a cuter baby...outside of my kids of course :) Quinn took some pics, butI haven't seen those yet, so I'll have to post those when I get a chance. Well, enjoy catching up on our crazy happenings...we'll let everyone know when baby makes his debut!

Girls' bedroom spruce up

Yesterday there was no school due to a mid winter break...what a joke considering all the snow days they've had! So, we went to Costco for some shopping and Kohl's because I wanted to look for a new toaster. I came home without a toaster, yet sporting new bedspread sets for the girls! isn't that always how it goes? I feel like I got a good deal considering it came with the bedspread, sham, ruffle and then a complete sheet set. Then after I got home, I couldn't resist and did a big no-no...taking apart their bunkbeds by myself and rearranging their room...all the while ready to pop a baby out at any time! Don't worry, NOTHING jumpstarts me into labor...my kids are usually in for the long haul. I even slipped on the ice at my friend's house on Sat. night and got nothing but sore muscles!!! (Of course it was my stupid fault for wearing flip flops out to the car...yes, I said flip flops - a girl has to have her toes nice and painted pretty for delivery doesn't she? And there's no way I can reach down there, so I had Carissa do them for me before I left her house...yep...I'm a dork!) Anyway, the room turned out so nice and the girls LOVE it!! So do I and so we had to show everyone...as you can see the girls had to jump into every picture I took...I am really glad they like it so much!!!

Naptime Troublemaker!!

I came in during naptime the other day to find that Faith had emptied her clothes out of the dresser and was trying things on...her first words were..."Can I wear this?" (referring to the vest she has in her hands)...then it was "Can I wake up? Can I wake up?" I finally gave up and ditched naptime altogther...ahhh...already loving the two year old stage again!!!

Valentine Cookies

Grace and Maddie had fun decorating cookies for Daddy before he came home on Valentine's Day. They iced and decorated completely by themselves and the cookies turned out so pretty!

More Snow Day Fun!!!

Last Monday we had yet another snow day and so I called up my good friend and neighbor across the street, Tina to come over and hang out. She goes just as nutso as I do during all these cancellations we have...she has four kids all the same exact age as mine, only she has twins! The kids have played together and grown up together since we've lived here. It's been so nice having a friend across the street who you can call on a whim to have the kids play or to watch each others kids so we can run errands or to just borrow an egg or whatever. I am really blessed to have someone to hang out with so close by...in the summertime we are out playing in their yard or ours, pretty much all day long. So on Monday, they came over to play while us mommies drank some coffee and chatted...the kids wanted to play dress up and they all looked so cute, only Thys didn't really have anything to put on as the boy of the house. Anyways...here are the pics of the kids and each of them are standing with the friend who is their same age!

Faith turns 2!!!

Ok, so the first picture on here is just adorable right? Lol. Faith woke up from her nap before her birthday party a total grump! Luckily she warmed up after a bit, but not before Daddy could capture some beautiful pictures of the girls to remember this special day by! I picked this one because out of four pictures this is actually the best! :) At least Grace and Maddie are doing the cheesy smile thing and not the I want to get off this stool look that Faith is sporting. We celebrated Faith's birthday the Saturday before...she actually turned 2 on Feb 12th. It was an Elmo themed party as she loves all things Elmo, and we had all of Quinn's family over for sledding, dinner and cake. It was a cold, snowy day and so we had a big pot of chili with tortilla chips and sour cream to go with, homemade mac n cheese, weggies and dip, finger jello and of course, chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream! I got lots of nice comments on the cake, which I LOVE doing for the girls and overall I think he turned out pretty darn cute...probably one of my favorites I've done - although the frosting was giving me lots of hassles the night before! I have a video to post of us singing to Faith, but I'll have to ask my hubby to help me another time...can't figure it out right now!

Party Fun

The only one I want to comment on is the picture of me...I like to call it the "Frank Hennacy" smile - Lol!!! It just made me laugh and reminded me so much of that dorky fake smile her would smile when he was being a little patronizing...like "Oh, ok dear - (like I give a rip)" Hee Hee...I know my family members can relate to that one!!!
