Today Grace's Pre-school class went on a trip to the Zoo. Maddie and I went along for fun while Faith stayed at Nana's. What a treat to spend a few hours alone with my girls. My big disappointment was that Maddie and I got there about an hour after the class did - we entered the Zoo at the same time, but before that the class went to a talk on animal coverings. I guess during the talk they called Grace up in front of everybody and measured her height against the length of a Boa Constrictor! The other mom that was watching her said she was so brave and stood still while they held the snake up to her! I am so bummed I missed it and am still trying to see if anybody got it on camera.Once we entered the Zoo we got to walk around on our own and look at things we wanted to see. We saw lots of animals including bears, chimpanzees, a tiger, etc... and the girls had a great time. They even rode a camel for the first ( and only) time - from a paying parent's perspective, $8 for both of them to ride around a loop twice was a little steep. A lot steep! If I would've known it was only two times, you probably wouldn't be looking at these pictures about now! At least we got into the Zoo for free!
It was fun to be able to go with the class, but John Ball Zoo is nothing like what I grew up with. Oh how I miss the Columbus Zoo!!! Where's Jack Hanna when you need him? Maybe this summer while we're in town for the trade show!
